Natural materiality was a defining priority from the outset, with oak, travertine, and nero marquina selected for both their visual richness and tactile depth. The two stones set the defining contrasts of the interior: travertine, with its layered geological warmth, grounds the living spaces – most strikingly in the monumental fireplace wall – while nero marquina brings a sharp counterpoint, its deep black surface and ivory veining forming a sharp counterpoint to the pale oak joinery and bronze hardware throughout.
