The Art of Contrast

 

Designed for clients seeking a departure from conventional suburban architecture, the House Among Trees is a harmonious blend of modern minimalism and woodland tranquility. This 292 m² villa proves that high-contrast aesthetics can result in a warm, inviting sanctuary.

Geometric Harmony

 

The architectural narrative is defined by two distinct volumes: a white, concrete-clad ground floor and a graphite-colored upper floor with a classic pitched roof. To achieve a sense of weightlessness, the base of the building features a recessed plinth, making the structure appear to “float” above the forest floor. This effect is further enhanced by light, sculptural steps leading to the entrance and terrace.

Strategic Seclusion

 

The house is a masterclass in managing privacy. From the street side, the facade remains almost entirely windowless, hiding the garage in the rear to avoid dominating the entrance view. However, once inside, the building opens up completely. Large, sliding glass panels turn the garden into a living backdrop for everyday life.

The interior design focuses on vertical space and light

 

The Living Core: A double-height void over the living room connects the floors, centered around a stunning three-sided glass fireplace.

 

Visual Continuity: The upper-floor hallway features windows on opposite sides, creating a transparent “see-through” effect that floods the space with natural light.

 

Modern Standards: The residence is equipped with high-efficiency mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (recuperation), ensuring a sustainable and comfortable environment.
