The View Residence

Bright and Exclusive Interior Seamlessly Connected to the Surrounding Landscape

Set on the border between two mountain ranges, this roughly 400 m² home was designed as a seasonal retreat built to be lived in all year round – as comfortable after a day on the slopes as it is through a quiet summer. The material palette leans entirely into its setting: warm oak slats run diagonally across the vaulted ceiling and down the walls, following the pitch of the roof, while sintered stone slabs bring a cooler, more architectural counterpoint wherever the wood pauses.

The ceiling is the room’s defining gesture – its diagonal slats tracing the full slope of the roofline from ridge to wall, turning what could have been a simple attic pitch into the space’s main architectural feature. Exposed timber beams cut across it at intervals, adding structure and rhythm without interrupting the flow of wood. A built-in bar, set into a darkened, textured wall and completes the space below – backlit shelving for glassware and wine giving the room a quiet after-hours character to match its daytime warmth.

A bespoke fluted timber wall greets guests first – a custom lattice panel made to order by a carpenter, its veneered surface routed into a fine grid that catches light and shadow differently at every hour. Paired with a deep charcoal accent wall and a built-in leather-and-textile bench for shoes or waiting guests, the space reads as warm and tactile from the first step inside.

Every bedroom in the house was designed to feel like a hotel suite. The fabric behind the beds reflect that ambition – each one custom woven by Polish artisans, adding handmade texture without disrupting the rooms’ quiet palette. Soft linens paired with dark wood nightstands, keep the space calm and restful. In the en-suite bathroom, large-format tiles from a Polish brand bring a sculptural, three-dimensional tree motif to the shower wall, continuing the natural feel throughout.

The spa continues the house’s material language into a more intimate, sensory register. A traditional sauna sits at one end, its glass door framing a warm timber interior for a quiet retreat. Just beside it, a bath is sunk directly into the floor, set against a backlit wall carved with a folk-inspired geometric motif – a decorative nod to Polish craft traditions glowing warmly behind the water.
